I seemed to not be the only person with similar ideas as the smart folks over at the CentOS project were already actively talking about their efforts into making some my ideas become reality the day before at the CentOS Dojo.</p> <p><iframe src="https://www.slideshare.net/slideshow/embed_code/key/7Pf3zfdlflWvei" width="595" height="485" frameborder="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" style="border:1px solid #CCC; border-width:1px; margin-bottom:5px; max-width: 100%;" allowfullscreen> </iframe><br /> <div style="margin-bottom:5px"> <strong> <a href="https://www.slideshare.net/KrisBuytaert/closing-the-gap-between-distrosdevs-and-their-usersops" title="Closing the gap between Distros(devs) and their Users(ops)" target="_blank">Closing the gap between Distros(devs) and their Users(ops)</a> </strong> from <strong><a target="_blank" href="https://www.slideshare.net/KrisBuytaert">Kris Buytaert</a></strong> </div> </p><p>Another talk of early this year was an update on the why Security is requires a devops aproach, why you want to embed security as a standard practice in your development process and why continuous delivery actually is a security requirement. </p> <p><iframe src="https://www.slideshare.net/slideshow/embed_code/key/aEg8OJ3MS8wkzR" width="595" height="485" frameborder="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" style="border:1px solid #CCC; border-width:1px; margin-bottom:5px; max-width: 100%;" allowfullscreen> </iframe><br /> <div style="margin-bottom:5px"> <strong> <a href="https://www.slideshare.net/KrisBuytaert/dev-secops-opsec-devsec-devops" title="Dev secops opsec, devsec, devops ?" target="_blank">Dev secops opsec, devsec, devops ?</a> </strong> from <strong><a target="_blank" href="https://www.slideshare.net/KrisBuytaert">Kris Buytaert</a></strong> </div> </p><p>At last weeks FLOSS UK Conference in London , I gave an updated version of My MonitoringLove talk, giving an opinionated overview of the current state of Open Source Monitoring tools.</p> <p><iframe src="https://www.slideshare.net/slideshow/embed_code/key/ebCtrEP90Iufn" width="595" height="485" frameborder="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" style="border:1px solid #CCC; border-width:1px; margin-bottom:5px; max-width: 100%;" allowfullscreen> </iframe><br /> <div style="margin-bottom:5px"> <strong> <a href="https://www.slideshare.net/KrisBuytaert/from-monitoringsucks-to-monitoring-love-2016-edition" title="From MonitoringSucks to Monitoring Love , 2016 Edition" target="_blank">From MonitoringSucks to Monitoring Love , 2016 Edition</a> </strong> from <strong><a target="_blank" href="https://www.slideshare.net/KrisBuytaert">Kris Buytaert</a></strong> </div> </p><p>I was scheduled to give the Opening Keynote today (23/3/2016) at the <a href="http://mossconf.ro/">Making Open Source Software Conference </a> , but sadly I had to cancel that due to yesterdays (22/3/2016) events at Brussels Airport. My flight to Bucharest was obviously cancelled.</p> <p>I`m scheduled to open up the 2nd day of the the upcoming <a href="http://www.devopsdays.org/events/2016-london/program/">Devopsdays London Edition </a></p> <p>And <a href="https://twitter.com/gethash">Bernd Erk</a> tricked me into giving a follow up talk on my popular 7 tools for your devops stack talk, aptly titled <a href="https://www.netways.de/en/events_trainings/osdc/program/kris_buytaert_another_7_tools_for_your_devops_stack/">Another 7 tools for your devops stack<a/></a/></a></p> http://127.0.0.1:8080/blog/recent-and-upcoming-talks#comments presentations talks Wed, 23 Mar 2016 20:58:16 +0000 Kris Buytaert 1106 at http://127.0.0.1:8080/blog Monitoring MySQL http://127.0.0.1:8080/blog/monitoring-mysql <p>The slides for my Monitoring MySQL talk , which I gave earlier today in an overcrowded MySQl Developersroom at Fosdem are now online, both at <a href="http://www.krisbuytaert.be/presentations/MySQLMonitoringShootOut.odp">my site</a> and at <a href="http://www.slideshare.net/KrisBuytaert/my-sql-monitoring-shoot-out">Slideshare</a></p> <p>As of now I actually expect people to use those slides for schoolwork or next year in a main Fosdem track :)<br /> As afterall that is the goal of Open Source and spreading the word .. </p> <div style="width:425px;text-align:left" id="__ss_1003527"><a style="font:14px Helvetica,Arial,Sans-serif;display:block;margin:12px 0 3px 0;text-decoration:underline;" href="http://www.slideshare.net/KrisBuytaert/my-sql-monitoring-shoot-out?type=presentation" title="MySQL Monitoring Shoot Out">MySQL Monitoring Shoot Out</a> <object style="margin:0px" width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://static.slideshare.net/swf/ssplayer2.swf?doc=mysqlmonitoringshootout-1234095909440592-1&stripped_title=my-sql-monitoring-shoot-out" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><embed src="http://static.slideshare.net/swf/ssplayer2.swf?doc=mysqlmonitoringshootout-1234095909440592-1&stripped_title=my-sql-monitoring-shoot-out" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="355"></embed></object><div style="font-size:11px;font-family:tahoma,arial;height:26px;padding-top:2px;">View more <a style="text-decoration:underline;" href="http://www.slideshare.net/">presentations</a> from <a style="text-decoration:underline;" href="http://www.slideshare.net/KrisBuytaert">Kris Buytaert</a>. The talk will be based on my series of Articles on the History and Future of Open Source virtualization earlier this year at <a href="http://virtualization.com/guides/2008/03/10/looking-back-at-a-decade-of-open-source-virtualisation/" rel="nofollow">Virtualization.com</a></p> <p>Given that those 2 conferences are week after week and LinuxKongress Hamburg being exactly a week later , this year will be the first since many that I'll have to miss LinuxKongress. I had a topic in mind, but time just didn't allow me.</p> <p>T-Dose is also on my list and there is some talk about an upcoming <a href="http://www.cloudcamp.com/" rel="nofollow">CloudCamp</a> in Berlin , but no final plans there yet.</p> http://127.0.0.1:8080/blog/node/712#comments cloudcamp conferences kopenhagen krisbuytaert opendays openexpo opensource opensourcedays presentations talks virtualization zurich Fri, 22 Aug 2008 18:18:51 +0000 Kris Buytaert 712 at http://127.0.0.1:8080/blog Upcoming conferences http://127.0.0.1:8080/blog/node/680 <p>My Conference schedule is growing again.
